FOR THE WRITER

If there’s anything I’ve learned about book promotion over the past few years, it’s this: it’s complicated. Or at least, that’s what it seems like…

Spend just a few minutes sifting through information on promoting, marketing, and selling your book, and you will find more strategies than you could have imagined. So the question becomes, who has it right?

The answer?

None of them.

Aaaand, also, all of them.

The thing is, some strategies will work for some, while some strategies will NOT work for others.

There simply is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to promoting your book. Every book is unique, and so is its path to recognition. It will always inevitably take having your own personal touch in the mix because you are the only one who truly knows your book, inside and out. genuine success comes from that personal touch, a deep understanding of your own work.

Anyone telling you they know the formula for selling your book is simply just selling pipe dreams and trying to make a quick buck off you.

Where there will never be a magic bullet for selling your book without your unique touch being ever-present (sorry to say that, yes, you will have to be involved in the promotion of your book in some way, shape, or form), there are things that, when understood, can help break down the process into more straightforward steps.

In the most simplest of terms, your book’s ability to draw sales comes from three different sources. All are unique in the selling process, yet intertwined.

  1. Your book is well written.

  2. Your book looks well written.

  3. People have the chance to see how well-written your book is.

Let me break it down:

Each of these takes a varying degree of effort on your part as the writer. For example, you are the main contributor to the first determiner: your book is well-written. If you don’t have a compelling story, written with a compelling voice, and presented in a compelling setting, you will simply not sell a significant amount of copies. This also includes the amount of editing that took place both personally and professionally.

Now, that is only a third of the battle. Next, you need to work to make your book enticing to others. This relates to number one because, simply put, compelling stories can be easily made visually compelling.

Whether through book cover art, perfectly written blurbs, or an enchanting title, your ability to draw readers to take a chance on your compelling story is not only crucial, it’s mandatory.

Luckily, this step can be subcontracted out a bit.

You can easily hire a cover designer to create your engaging book cover that presents the compellingness of your story in a visually satisfying way.

Having both these things is a great start. But there is something missing from this equation:

Compelling writing + Compelling design + ___________ = book sales!!!!

Your book will go nowhere without an audience to receive it.

In other words, you can’t just sell your book to the wind. You need buyers in the mix. Eyes on the prize (which is your book). You need someone to be compelled by your compelling(can I use the word compel any more…)

If you can’t get your book in front of, not only as many eyes as you can but, as many eyes of readers seeking your kind of story, you might as well have not written the thing in the first place. Sad, huh?

Well…

We can help.

With GetBookWreck’d we are building a community of next-read-seekers that enjoy the touch, smell, and sight of a physical book. Why not have the book recommendation tool be that as well: a book?

With thousands of these books in the process of being shipped out to these readers at no cost to them, I might add (yes, you read that right, our free books will be flying off the shelves and into the homes and hearts of readers all over the world…) it will be only a matter of time that a GetBookWreck’d book is in the home of every reader--meaning, that your book can be too.

Why not just go Fully digital?

I’m glad I pretended you asked.

Along with this the fact is, many readers prefer the physical side of reading books. In a world where distinguishing genuine engagement from digital noise can be challenging, we ensure your book reaches real, passionate readers. With digital promotion, you never know who online might be just a bot (and we all know bots can’t actually buy and read your book.)

Our product puts a physical book in the hands of real-life, living, breathing (hopefully) flesh and blood readers. Readers, that are eager to get their hands on their next read from their favorite genre and/or author?

Hey, wait a second…Could that possibly be you?

We seem to think so.
